Boom Boom Firearms LLC offers a hybrid course for Maryland
State Police 4-Hour Handgun Qualification License, which
includes both an online classroom portion and in-person range
portion. **For Hybrid Student, YOU MUST
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE BOTH THE ONLINE HANDGUN QUALIFICATION
CLASSROOM AND IN-PERSON (LIVE-FIRE RANGE) PORTIONS TO MEET THE
REQUIRED 4 HOURS FOR YOUR HQL APPLICATION.** The HQL is

first attend the mandatory in-person live-range portion scheduled
October 31, 2020

Please note that you must log into the course on a
desktop/laptop. One device per person, because there will be test
at the end of the course.

In order to obtain an HQL, you must complete a minimum of 4
hours of instructions.
BOOM BOOM FIREARMS LLC 4 HOUR HYBRID COURSE WILL INCLUDE
- State Firearm Law (online). Overview of
the State firearm laws, including discussion of what constitutes a
regulated firearm, how to properly purchase or transfer a firearm,
where allowed to carry or transport a firearm, when necessary to
possess a carry permit, who is prohibited from possessing firearms,
and state law relating to minors, permissible levels of force, and
use of deadly force.
- Home Firearm Safety (online). Overview of
handgun and firearm safety in the home, including discussion of
access to minors, locking and storing of firearms, and use of
safety devices, such as secure lock boxes.
- Handgun Mechanisms and Operation (online &
in-person). Overview of the proper operation and safe
handling of a handgun, including cleaning and maintenance, the
loading and unloading of ammunition, and the differences between
revolvers and semi-automatic handguns.
- Operation and Handling Demonstration (in-person
live-fire range). Orientation component that demonstrates
the person’s safe operation and handling of a firearm, to include a
“live fire” component in which the applicant safely shoots the
weapon. An applicant may not be required to fire in excess of 15
yards during qualifications.

*Cost does not include fingerprinting, or MSP $50 application
fee. Services for fingerprinting will be provided during the
